How to Choose a Tattoo Studio in Kadıköy: A Six-Point Checklist

A tattoo is a permanent decision, so it pays not to rush when choosing a studio. At our studio in Erenköy we've put the questions people ask us most into order. Whichever studio you end up at, you can take this list with you.

1. Review the portfolio against the style you have in mind

Not every artist is strong in every style. Realism, blackwork, colour work and illustrative pieces each call for a different hand. Look at the studio's gallery and the artists' own pages; if you want to see healed (not fresh, healed) work in your style, ask for it directly.

2. Studio or artist?

Different artists work in the same studio. Ink People is a collective; you can see the artists on our artists page. Ask to meet the artist whose work is closest to your idea.

3. Talk first

A good studio won't sell you a date straight away; it listens to your idea, the placement, the size and your references. At Ink People, booking starts on WhatsApp or through the booking form. If you can't get a clear answer to your questions, that is a sign too.

4. Can you bring your own design?

Bringing a reference image is normal; a good artist adapts it so it works as a tattoo. Rather than asking for an exact copy, describe your idea and let the artist adapt it.

5. Talk price in terms of scope, not upfront

Price depends on size, detail, placement and the artist, which is why there is no single figure online. Describe your idea and ask the studio for a quote.

6. Support after healing

How long a tattoo lasts depends on the healing period. Choose a studio that gives aftercare instructions and that you can come back to with questions. See our new tattoo aftercare guide, and for colour work, our colour longevity post.
