Best Tattoo Artists in Istanbul: The International Guide

istanbultattoo artistguidekadikoy

Istanbul has secured a decisive position on the global tattoo map over the past decade. The city plays host not only to Turkish clients — but also to thousands of foreign visitors from Europe, the Middle East, the US, and Asia. What makes Istanbul so attractive?

Why Istanbul?

  • Internationally awarded artists: Istanbul-based artists now win awards at the same festivals as those in Berlin, Amsterdam, and Tokyo
  • Competitive prices: Significantly less than Western Europe or the US for the same quality
  • Diversity: Realism, anime, blackwork, fine line, whimsical — Istanbul has specialist artists for every style
  • The city itself: Istanbul is an experience beyond the tattoo — the Bosphorus waterfront, historic venues, and food culture

Ink People: Kadıköy's Award-Winning Collective

Ink People is located in Erenköy neighbourhood, Kadıköy district, on Istanbul's Asian side. The studio brings together 4 artists holding 9 international awards between them:

  • Barış Atilla — 4x international awards. Hyper-realistic colour portraits. Practises tattooing like painting.
  • Ozan Bağcık — 3x international awards. Hyper-realistic detailed work. From botanical florals to mythological scenes.
  • Berkay Uzun — 2x international awards. Colour work, anime-inspired illustration. Resident and travelling artist.
  • Alev Sarı — Whimsical and illustrative design. Fine art background, storytelling through tattoo art.

Before Arriving in Istanbul

  • Check your Turkey visa requirements (e-visa available for many nationalities)

No. All Ink People artists speak Turkish and English. You can communicate in English throughout the booking process and design consultation.
