Alev Sarı
Botanical & Painterly Work
A painting graduate of Anadolu University's Faculty of Fine Arts, Alev Sarı works across collage, painting and tattooing. After Pin Tattoo Gallery and Tattoom Gallery she now tattoos at Inkpeople, and plants always find their way into her work.
In their own words
I'm Alev Sarı. I was born in Amasya and moved to Istanbul with my family when I was five. I studied Painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Anadolu University in Eskişehir.
I started tattooing at Pin Tattoo Gallery, one of the most established studios in Istanbul. After three years there, I opened my own studio in Erenköy, Istanbul. In 2024 I continued my work at Tattoom Gallery, and today I take my tattoo clients at Inkpeople.
I keep producing work in the visual arts through different techniques and disciplines. I am interested in many forms of expression, collage and painting above all, and tattooing is one of them.
My work is shaped over time by my changing interests and new ways of making, but plants, which take up a large part of my life, always find a place in it.
